Assessment and Treatment for Adult ADHD
ADHD - clinical diagnostic evaluation
Dr. Strouse takes a comprehensive clinical approach to the diagnosis of ADHD. We will thoroughly discuss your symptoms dating back to childhood and adolescence as well as symptoms that have persisted into adulthood. We will also discuss the impact that symptoms have had on education, work, and relationships.
As part of the history-taking process, we will screen for anxiety, mood, and substance use disorders, among others, which may co-occur or be mistaken for ADHD.
The Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale is a screening tool, among others, to identify possible symptoms of ADHD. The symptom checklist was developed in conjunction with the World Health Organization and a specialized Workgroup on Adult ADHD.
ADHD - treatment options
The range of treatment options include education, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and medication management (stimulants or non-stimulants). Dr. Strouse has expertise in the prescription of medications for the treatment of ADHD. We will work together to optimize treatment of your symptoms so you can best achieve your goals.
